Of course, I am not dedicated to all the details of his theatrical existence, but I know a lot from conversations at home, from the stories of actors Vladimir Etush and Yuri Yakovlev. It is unfortunate, but true: the theatrical life is hard - there is too much envy, anger and negativity in it.

And as soon as this happened, my weak and infirm mother gathered herself into a fist, ordered a car from the theater and drove to him. But by that time she didn’t go outside at all - she simply didn’t have enough strength for it.

My father had Parkinson's disease, and such patients should not lie down - this is certain death, he had to walk a lot. I still have this picture before my eyes: a small, dry mother holds her father by the arm and, saying: “Misha, and - one, and - one!”, drags him along the hospital corridors ... Formally, she outlived her husband by one and a half year, in fact - for two months. After a severe stroke that struck her shortly after his death, she never regained consciousness and soon died.

Fortunately, yes. I constantly went to see him in the hospital, for me at that moment it was the most important thing in my life. And then a very strange story happened ... In the morning, I suddenly decided for myself: "I'll go to my dad!" Although dad was already unconscious by that time and there was no need for this. My daughter Lisa immediately called: “What are you going to do today?” - "Yes," I say, "I'm going to my grandfather." - "I'm with you". Liza came for me, we came to him in intensive care, stood by him. And I suddenly realized: "But he's leaving ...". So suddenly it became scary and creepy! We said goodbye to him and left. And half an hour later the resuscitator called me and said that my father had left.

Not that word! My every gesture, my every movement, my every deed seems to be dictated by my father. Today I spoke with a journalist who asked: "Why are you doing monuments?" - “You see,” I say, “my friend, it’s not me, it’s just that someone is pushing me from above, telling me:“ Lenka (that’s what dad called me), but do it! And you know, an amazing thing: I always succeed. There is money, there are people who come to the rescue. “Lord,” I think, “someone is leading me!” And that someone is my dad.

Last November, I went to the city of Tara in the Omsk region to open a monument to my father on his 85th birthday. Actually, dad was born in the village of Bergamak, but soon the family moved to Tara, where dad grew up.
Therefore, they decided to pay tribute to the memory of the great countryman there. A competition for the best monument was announced, each project was actively discussed in the local newspaper, residents even collected money, the Omsk government helped a lot - in general, it was a national monument. I first came to Tara. And I had no idea how far it was! Four hours by plane from Moscow to Omsk. Then 300 kilometers along a broken road. Around the endless snow. In Moscow, the yellow leaves are still falling, but here the blizzard is already sweeping so that nothing is visible at arm's length. By the way, when I asked about Bergamak in Tara, they told me: “You can go, it’s close, two hundred and fifty kilometers.” To my shame, I didn't go. However, for the first time I had enough impressions in Tara. Little rickety houses. Against their background, the huge, ultra-modern building of the Northern Drama Theater named after Mikhail Ulyanov, illuminated by searchlights, looks completely unexpected.

Here in front of this theater, on the square, they erected a monument. All the inhabitants of the town gathered at the opening, and those who knew Ulyanov in childhood and youth came from Omsk, his sister, Aunt Rita, with his cousin Masha, came from Moscow, actors Alexander Filippenko and Marina Esipenko, also a Siberian. And when at the opening I pulled the curtain from the monument, people in the crowd gasped: “Misha! How alive!”

No beggars and vagabonds, only hardy, strong, hard-working people. And so they were taken away by anyone in what they were in 30 minutes, put on carts and taken away to the swamp, to death. Someone was shot, someone died of hunger. Perhaps that is why dad did not want to talk about his family. It was painful for him... During the war, the Ukrainian theater was evacuated to Tara. Young Misha Ulyanov ran there to the performances, and it was then that the idea was born in him to enter the theater school.
