Motoblock Mole - reliable equipment at an affordable price. Reliable walk-behind tractor mole

The motor-cultivator "Krot" became one of the first domestic products of small-sized agricultural machinery, in general, the first walk-behind tractor, the mass production of which was organized in our country. From 1983 to this day, Krot motor cultivators have been produced at a number of machine-building enterprises from Moscow to Omsk, and in the 2000s, also at Chinese plants and factories. How during this time did the walk-behind tractor prove itself in the hard-working hands of summer residents, gardeners and farmers? What are its design features, advantages and disadvantages? How is Krot-2 different from Krot-1? Read on.

The specific purpose of the Krot motor cultivator is to perform a wide range of agricultural work on tillage. In summer cottages and household plots, in vegetable gardens and in the subsidiary plots. The owners of these small "lands" know from experience that they can be dug up by hand only with a significant investment of time and physical strength. And the Mole walk-behind tractor is designed to save time, strength and health of its owner.

This small (both in size and power) agricultural machinery is used primarily for loosening, leveling, harrowing the land on small (up to 0.1 ha) land plots. The instructions for the Mole walk-behind tractor indicate that it is intended for shallow (up to 25 centimeters) processing (milling without turning the layer) of the soil; its loosening, harrowing, leveling, weeding between rows and other similar works "on personal household plots, vegetable gardens and garden plots with a cultivated area from 0.04 to 0.1 ha)".

The main operations for cultivating the land are carried out using the working body of a motor cultivator - a cutter (rotors with specially shaped knives). The torque from the engine through the V-belt transmission, gears and sprockets with a chain is transmitted to the gearbox shaft with rotors attached to it. During rotation, the blades of the rotors cut off the layers of soil, crumble and mix them, at the same time causing the progressive movement of the cultivator forward.

Compared to a plow, the cutter loosens the soil better, crushes the roots of weeds, and evenly mixes organic and mineral fertilizers with the soil throughout the entire depth of processing. Manufacturers claim that the use of the Krot motor cultivator is possible even on heavy soils, and when processing virgin lands.

Additional attachments significantly expand the scope of the Mole walk-behind tractor. In particular, it can be used to carry out inter-row weeding; hilling potatoes; grass mowing.

Motoblock "Mole" can also be used for pumping water from open reservoirs and containers. To do this, a pumping unit is installed on its frame, connected by a V-belt drive to the engine. And the V-belt drive is removed from the traction gearbox. The MNU-2 pumping unit used for this work, of course, is purchased separately.

The Krot can also bring some benefit for transporting goods weighing up to 200 kg on a small-sized TM-200 trolley with a swivel hitch. Rubberized wheels are put on the output shafts of the gearbox.
"Mole" is relatively easy to handle, does not require a large storage space, and its small weight and dimensions simplify its transportation.

Description of the design of the Mole motoblock

The frame, consisting of two half-frames, is bolted to the gearbox. The tubular control handles for the cultivator and the bracket for installing additional attachments are located at the rear of the walk-behind tractor. On the handles are the engine speed and clutch controls (on the modification "Krot-2" - also reverse gear).

Soil cutters with a diameter of 320 mm are put on the output shafts of the Krota gearbox for plowing the soil, weeding from weeds or wheels (for working with a hiller (or a plow, as well as for operating a cultivator with a trolley). An internal combustion engine is attached to the frame, connected by a V-belt transmission to the input shaft of the gearbox.

The fuel tank is located on top. The lifting wheels are used to roll the cultivator, but they must be raised or removed during operation.

The Mole walk-behind tractor works according to this principle. Through the V-belt, a rotating movement is transmitted to the gearbox, and then to the two output shafts. After the clutch is engaged, a belt is tensioned that drives the gearbox shaft. During collective idling, the clutch is disengaged.

The gearbox shaft, equipped with milling cutters - rotors with special knives, rotates, cuts off layers of soil, simultaneously crushing and mixing it. Thus, with progressive movements, the "Mole" makes its way forward.

Directly when buying a walk-behind tractor, four cutters are provided in the set, which are installed on different sides of the gearbox shaft. There is also the possibility of using six cutters at once. The depth of loosening will depend on the length of the attached coulter.

In order for the walk-behind tractor not to get stuck in place, “digging in”, or, on the contrary, not to “run along the surface” of the earth, rising up, the operator needs to adjust the cultivation depth throughout the work. Thus, with the help of the Mole handles, it is necessary to periodically press it into the soil, or, conversely, lift it up.

Technical characteristics of motoblocks "Krot" and "Krot-2"

  • Dimensions in working position: Length: 1000-1300 mm; Width: 350-800mm; Height: 710-1060 mm.
  • Capture width: from 350 to 600 mm.
  • Cutter diameter (rotor with knives): 320 mm.
  • Weight (without fuel mixture in the tank): 51.5 kg.
  • Depth of tillage - 250 mm;
  • Productivity during milling - 150-200 square meters at one o'clock.

The classic Mole engine is a single-cylinder two-stroke carburetor, with forced air cooling.

The working volume of this motor is 60 cubic centimeters. Power - 2.6 horsepower, or 1.91 kW (at 5500-6500 rpm). Starting the engine is manual, carried out with a matuska rope, the starter is fixed.

The latest models of the Krot-2 motor cultivator are equipped with more powerful 4-stroke Chinese-made engines. The single-cylinder "GreenField" engine of the GX series has an overhead valve arrangement and a piston with a cast-iron sleeve. The working volume of such an engine is 198 cubic centimeters.

The carburetor on the MK-1 Krot motoblock is the same as on the Sh-50 or Sh-52 engines of the popular Soviet mopeds Riga, Verkhovyna or Karpaty: the K-60V brand. By the way, in the design of the engine "Mole" was used a large number of and other parts from Soviet mopeds. On motoblocks "Krot-2" not only the engine, but also the carburetor is different - brand "K41K".

Engine air cleaner - dry, with a replaceable filter element. The older generation remembers that in the USSR a collapsible oil filter for Zhiguli cars was produced, on which the same filter element was installed as on the air filter.

The Krot engine runs on low-octane gasoline A-76 (or A-80 - in the post-Soviet era), mixed with engine oil M-8V1 (autol), in a ratio of 20 to one. The volume of the fuel tank of the walk-behind tractor is 1.8 liters.

Ignition - electronic non-contact magneto "MB-1", as on the Druzhba and Ural chainsaws common in the USSR. Spark plug "A-17B". However, even with the “A-11” spark plug, the engine of the cultivator works stably, carbon formation on the spark plug does not form, and glow ignition is not observed. The average fuel consumption rate (for the Krot-2 motoblock) is 0.96 l / kW per hour.

Transmission

The engine of the Krot motoblock is made in a single block with a single-stage gear reducer (motor transmission). On motor cultivators "Krot-2" a reverse gear is also provided. Lubrication of the motor gearbox - engine oil "M-8V1" (It is also acceptable to use transmission oil "TAD-17" (SAE 85W90).

There is a pulley on the output shaft of the motor reducer. Through the V-belt transmission, the torque is transmitted to the pulley of the main gearbox.

The motoblock clutch is constantly off, it is turned on with a handle, like on a motorcycle or moped. When the clutch is engaged, the V-belt is tensioned, its slippage on the pulley is eliminated, and torque is transmitted. The main gearbox is two-stage (chain and a pair of gears). Lubrication - transmission oil "TAD-17" (SAE 85W90).

On pre-sowing tillage:
Contrary to popular belief, the MK-1 Mole walk-behind tractor does not plow the land, but cultivates it (which is also reflected in its name: a motor-cultivator). That is, loosens and levels its top layer.

Soil cutters are fixed on the output shafts of the gearbox; transport wheels are raised, an opener is attached to the bracket, which acts as a brake and regulates the depth of processing. The cutters are the working body and, at the same time, the mover of the Krot motor cultivator.

The walk-behind tractor is equipped with a set of cutters (two internal and two external - respectively: "right" and "left"). When developing complex (virgin and fallow) lands, it is recommended to use only internal cutters.

On relatively light (horticultural) soils, it is permissible to additionally use a third set of cutters (purchased separately). With six cutters, despite the increased load, the Krot motor cultivator works well, and even more stable, without trying to “burrow” into the soil.

But eight cutters of the MK-1 Mole motoblock will no longer pull. More precisely, it will pull, but with great difficulty - with overload and overheating of the engine and the risk of breakage of the handles. Therefore, it is undesirable to overdo it with cutters. You can try and plow the land; mounted plows for walk-behind tractors are on sale. The more powerful "Krot-2" is able to more or less satisfactorily cope with this task.

Initially (in 1983), the MK-1 Krot was released as a single-purpose agricultural machine - a "milling type cultivator". A number of additional attachments (weeding knife, hilling plow, mower with a segmented cutterbar) - for the "Mole" was developed in subsequent years.

As a result of these additions, the cultivator moved into the category of walk-behind tractors, and became on a par with classic walk-behind tractors - such as the popular MTZ-0.5.
On weeding:
For inter-row weeding on internal cutters, it is necessary to install L-shaped weeders instead of knives for cultivating the soil. And in place of the outer cutters, put discs for plant protection (purchased separately).

On hilling potatoes:
Instead of soil cutters, metal wheels with lugs are installed (purchased separately). Instead of a coulter, a potato hiller is installed (purchased separately).
When digging potatoes:
Instead of soil cutters, metal wheels with lugs are installed (purchased separately). Instead of a coulter, a potato digger is installed (purchased separately).
On grass mowing:
For mowing grass for fodder and hay, a special mower is hung in front of the cultivator (purchased separately). Wheels are mounted on the output shafts of the gearbox. The mower is connected to the engine by a V-belt drive. To do this, there is an additional pulley on the output shaft of the engine.
For pumping water:
To pump water from open reservoirs, a pump connected to the engine by a V-belt drive can be installed on the Mole frame. In this case, the V-belt drive must be removed from the traction gearbox. The MNU-2 pumping unit, of course, is also purchased separately.
For cargo transportation:
When working with a small-sized cart, the Mole, of course, crawls like a turtle. However, in certain situations it still helps out: it's still better than carrying sacks of potatoes on your shoulders.

So, the Krot-2 modification received a gearbox with a rear-view gear and a more modern, powerful and efficient four-stroke Chinese engine. Other design features of the next Mole model: the presence of a new improved carburetor, a centrifugal crankshaft speed controller and a new air filter.

Providing the Krot walk-behind tractor with reverse gear improved its performance in small contour areas, as well as when operating the MK with additional mounted implements: a trolley, a mower, etc. And the new engine contributed to an increase in productivity, while reducing operating fuel consumption, reducing noise levels, and increasing the working life. Some manufacturing options are possible, slightly differing in the shape or design of the air cleaner, carburetor, fuel cock, gas tank and other parts.

In addition to official modifications, there are also home-made "variations on the theme of" Mole "made by the owners themselves. Some craftsmen even install electric motors on Krot motor cultivators different designs. The supply of electricity in this case occurs through the cable. And the Chinese have long liked the design of the Krot motor cultivator. For several years, they simply produced an exact copy of it at their enterprises, and then they also took up its improvement.

Modern models are sold under warranty, with the slightest malfunction in guarantee period accepted for repair free of charge.

The mole cultivator engine needs to be run in. The fact is that the first minutes of work are the most important. During this period, the load on the engine elements is maximum. For each model, the instructions indicate the period or period of engine break-in. It is necessary to give the details time to grind. Otherwise, repairs cannot be avoided.

If it's time to "modernize" the mole, then start by replacing the engine. The device of any model of a gasoline cultivator is simple; replacement, repair or maintenance does not take much time. To do this, just follow the instructions and fulfill the conditions indicated in it for replacing the engine in the mole cultivator.

Replace old engine more and more often on Chinese counterparts, everything is intelligible and simple:

  1. Drain the oil.
  2. Disconnect the gas cable.
  3. The motor is dismantled by unscrewing the four lower nuts.
  4. Trying on a new motor for proper mounting.
  5. If the mounting holes do not match, make new ones.
  6. Attach the engine.
  7. Set up the transmission belt for the mole cultivator and the controls.

In case of changes in operation, it is advisable to adjust the device with your own hands. It is more convenient to set up and repair with your own hands, because in a deserted area, few will agree to help with the repair of the cultivator during the planting or harvesting season.

Ignition of a gasoline cultivator mole from a candle. Very often this element requires preventive maintenance. So, to fix the problem you need:

  1. Check the spark plugs and put in new ones.
  2. Inspection of suppression resistance for malfunction.
  3. After following steps 1 and 2, check the high voltage wires.
  4. Next, inspect the fuel hose.
  5. Check the condition of the carburetor.

If, nevertheless, the mole cultivator does not start, but there is a spark, then the solution to the problem in this video:

Of course, it is better to entrust a more complex repair of a walk-behind tractor to a professional. Modern models of cultivators are equipped with four-stroke engines to save fuel. Also, this type of motor is repaired much less frequently with proper care.

How garden equipment is serviced

Spare parts and attachments for the mole cultivator need maintenance. Garden equipment has instructions for proper storage and periodic maintenance. According to the instructions, perform the following actions:

  1. Carry out the cleaning of the cylinder head from the elements of the earth and vegetation. The cylinder head is washed and dried.
  2. Remove the formed carbon deposits in the engine cylinder.
  3. The fuel mixture is washed with a carburetor, supply channels.
  4. Clean filter and muffler.
  5. With long work, the Mole needs repair or replacement of the crankcase. The crankcase should be replaced after partial disassembly of the gearbox.
  6. Remove the layer of soot accumulated on the muffler. To do this, remove the bolts and washers. Enough napkins soaked in gasoline, but clean thoroughly.

Following the systematic cleaning of these elements of technology, it is realistic to count on more than a dozen years of operation without a major overhaul.

Cultivator (motoblock) KROT-2

One of the most reliable cultivators for various kinds cultivation of arable land.

Most gardeners and summer residents are familiar with this model. For 2016 Mole 2 is the best-selling cultivator in the territory Russian Federation. Soil cultivation is one of the few functions of this type of equipment. The Mole model has proven itself as a reliable gearbox, but its two-stroke engine is rather weak even for seasonal use.

With the presence of imported engines of wide production, the updated model of the cultivator is now back in trend. Engines already have power from 3.5 to 6.5 horses. Mole 2 is equipped with engines from Honda, Lifan, Subaru and other manufacturers. You should not worry about the quality and reliability of these brands. When used according to the instructions, everything will work like new for many years.

Mole 2 is equipped with several types of attachments suitable for processing even heavy clay soils.

Model Features:

  1. Adjustable handles.
  2. Easy to transport overall design.

  9. Weight 70 kilograms.

The price of a mole 2 cultivator starts at 19,500 rubles.

Attachments and attachments

The work of the mole cultivator is unthinkable without specific equipment:

  1. Cultivator cutters. The main "working" tool for this type of garden equipment. Operates only in combination with a coulter.
  2. Plow. Set when processing virgin land. Where reverse milling knives are not acceptable, a plow similar to a tractor or horse-drawn plow is used.
  3. Okuchnik. This is a wedge-shaped plow equipped with a plowshare. make straight ridges or deep furrows under, beans, peas and onions. After planting, these crops are spudded with this attachment.
  4. Plow for potatoes. Facilitates collection, preserving root crops.
  5. Rotary mower. Small and manoeuvrable mowers. Bypass bushes and trees.
  6. Rotary brush. Attached equipment for cleaning the territory.

This is the main list of mounted modules used in the garden and home gardens.

Overview of Mole cultivators - video

"Krot" is produced from the conveyors of Omsk and "Moscow Engineering Enterprise named after V.V. Chernyshev", which is considered the most advanced aircraft engine building enterprise, which is part of the General Engine Building Corporation (UEC). The organization began its existence in the 32nd year of the last century.

At that time, the factories produced piston engines and diesel engines for aircraft, which were supplied to the Aeroflot. Ten years later, the company began producing the very first jet engines in the country, which were installed on fighter jets.

Until the end of the 70s, all aircraft of this class were equipped with turbojet engines, which were produced at this particular plant.

The design of the Soviet cultivator "Krot" began in the 80s, 3 years after the start of development, it was put into mass production. "Mole" produced by the Moscow Machine-Building Enterprise named after V.V. Chernyshev.

The very first motor cultivator "Krot" MK-1 was produced as a single-purpose unit that cultivated the soil.

For more information about the work of the Moscow Machine-Building Enterprise named after V.V. Chernyshev, see the video:

To date, the technical features of motor cultivators have become much larger; they can perform a wider range of work with attachments.

Today, motor cultivators are equipped with motors from global companies. And this greatly improved the cultivation process.

Motors that are installed on the "Mole" in the era Soviet Union often broke down and were not so powerful, required a more careful attitude, they had to be turned off periodically.

But over the years, everything has changed, light maneuverable machines, such as: cultivators, manual, can handle any area, regardless of the complexity of the work.

Today, most foreign companies produce analogues to motor cultivators "Krot", for example, the Greenfield company - and this indicates the demand for the company's equipment.

This lightweight equipment perfectly copes with the tasks set, in addition, it can be equipped with powerful motors from world manufacturers, and this significantly distinguishes them from models from other manufacturers.

The first attempt to create a Soviet walk-behind tractor, which was successful - "Mole", has an almost inexhaustible resource of work and versatility.

Put into mass production in 1983, the walk-behind tractor is primarily intended for plowing the soil. But, when using additional equipment, the device is able to plant and dig up ripe potatoes, harvest hay, pull a two-hundred-kilogram cart and serve as a water pump.

The designers of the device made it as simple as possible. This, firstly, made it less vulnerable during operation, and secondly, it allowed people who were far from understanding complex mechanisms to use it for their agricultural needs.

The dimensions of the "Mole" are approximately 1300x810x1060 mm, which simplifies its storage. Even a barn or garage will do. It makes service motoblock "Mole" even more simple and attractive.

The device is simple and consists of an internal combustion engine, a frame, a gearbox, a bracket and a handle. Removable wheels, which are included in the kit, will allow you not to make special efforts during transportation.

Mechanisms with which you can control engine speed, clutch and, in some models, reverse gear, are located on the handle. Attachments, such as weeding cutters or wheels, necessary when working with a plow, are provided for fastening to the gearbox.

Cutters, sharp in themselves, are made of hardened steel, which makes them resistant to external aggressive influences and allows them to be in working order for decades.

Depending on the modification, they put on the units motors, the power of which reaches 6.5 liters. With. This makes the Mole walk-behind tractor a real helper. The instruction manual is written in an accessible language and does not miss any details.

Oil Features

Despite the simplicity of design and use, there are several points, ignorance of which will negatively affect the operation of the unit. For example, what kind of oil to fill.

Oil for motoblock "Mole" you need three types: separately for the fuel mixture, for the engine gearbox and for the output gearbox.

  • For the fuel mixture, M-12 should be used in a ratio of 1:20 to gasoline. This is a common type of oil that is used for two-stroke gasoline-powered engines.
  • The oil in the gearbox of the Mole motoblock must be MG-8A. This is the so-called hydraulic oil.
  • For the output gearbox, transmission oil TAD-17 should be purchased.

The manufacturer can be selected based on financial capabilities. There are also domestic brands cheaper, and imported, respectively, more expensive.

Always check the amount of oil in the engine gearbox. Its level must always be higher than the mark of the control hole. If the levels match, simply add 0.2 liters through the special hole.

It is not worth preparing the fuel mixture directly in the tank of the unit; it is better to use a separate vessel for this purpose. If it is impossible otherwise, then first pour in half of the required volume of gasoline, then all the oil, mix for ten minutes, and only then add the second half of gasoline.

Reverse speed at home

Reverse speed on the Mole motoblock are not present in all models. Sometimes it even depends on where the unit was produced - in Moscow or Omsk. Fortunately, the craftsmen came up with an easy way to improve the Mole walk-behind tractor. Modernizations are different.

Here is one of the recipes for how to make reverse speed on the Mole walk-behind tractor. The nut that holds the pulley of the agricultural machine is unscrewed. We string next to it a pulley from, for example, the Volga. We fasten the nut.

In the design of the pressure roller, we use a timing belt from any foreign car. And, in fact, the switch in front of the walk-behind tractor is a small metal bar connected to the entire pressure roller mechanism. The bar is mounted on two springs and a cable goes from it to the switch handle on the handle.

The belt is an important detail

V-belt for motoblock Krot, - one of the most essential elements for the operation of the unit. Its purpose is to transmit torque from the engine to the nodes. If you don’t know which belt is on the Krot motoblock, you have the classic version of the A 750.

The size of the belt for the Mole walk-behind tractor in this case is easily determined - the marking corresponds to it in millimeters. Typically, in Soviet and modern Russian samples, just such a detail is used. On the other hand, you need to check your Mole walk-behind tractor. Drive belt, it can have a size of 785 mm. Width - 12 mm.

The belt for the Krot motor-block is used only in this temperature range: -30°С to +60°С.

Like the oil level the condition of the V-belt must be constantly monitored. Crack, deformation, change in size - immediately you need to change this important detail, as the unstable operation of the belt will lead to breakage or deterioration of the operation of the entire apparatus. Replacing it is quite easy.

Spare parts and accessories

Attachment for Mole motoblock, diverse. You can turn your assistant into a wheelbarrow tractor, use it to cultivate potatoes, as a lawn mower and a water pump to water your vegetable garden or garden. The number of parts is small.

Plow

If there is a need and desire, you can unhook the cutters from the unit and install wheels in their place. And to the device attach plow for motoblock "Mole". It is installed in place of the coulter. When cultivating the land, it works best in conjunction with cutters.

cutters

Knives, as they are called, cutters mounted on the gearbox shaft. The cutters for the Mole motoblock rotate, while removing the top layer of the earth, mixing and crushing it. Plus, thanks to these rotational movements, the apparatus moves forward.

The standard equipment includes four cutters, but their number can be increased to six. How deep the loosening of the earth will occur depends on the position in which the stuck coulter is located.

Oil seals

Oil seals on motoblock "Mole" present in the amount of five pieces. Their task is to maintain sealing in the joints. Their place is the trunnions of the crankshaft. The unit is equipped with a two-stroke motor, which is considered especially vulnerable if the tightness is broken.

If the oil seals have become unusable, then the engine will not start well, during idle operation the speed will be unstable. These parts can only be replaced - they cannot be repaired.

The pulley for the Mole walk-behind tractor can be made of materials such as cast iron, steel, aluminum. Most attractive to install light alloy parts are considered. If you are thinking of changing the engine on your Mole, then take care of purchasing pulleys as well.

You will need parts with an inside diameter of 20 mm, 19.05 mm, or 18 mm - depending on which motor you like.

The pulleys are located in the same plane with a deviation of no more than 1 mm.

Piston ring

Replacement piston ring motoblock "Mole" occurs, if the gap in the junction of the rings has formed more than 1 mm. They are inserted alternately into the cylinder to a depth of eight to ten millimeters.

There is a whole so-called cylinder-piston group for the Mole motoblock unit. Piston ring it is present in the amount of two pieces. The material from which the rings and other parts of the group are made, as well as the accuracy of their fit, greatly affects the working life.

Here are the elements of this group:

  • Piston pin 11mm;
  • Piston rings 2 pcs. ;
  • Cylinder;
  • Piston.

So that the parts of the cylinder-piston group, and all the rest, do not dry out, do not let the walk-behind tractor stand idle for more than one season. This adversely affects the apparatus, which, if used regularly, practically does not kill.

Magneto on the Mole motoblock, namely its coil, comes into disuse during long periods of inactivity technology.

wheels

The wheels for the Mole walk-behind tractor can be completely different, depending on the work that is planned to be carried out. Sometimes they simply rise or are removed altogether. This is what they do when weeding. One way or another, wheels for all occasions are not provided for a walk-behind tractor.

wheels different material, from which they were made, width, diameter, fit size. For example, narrow tires are needed to work among the rows of crops, and wide tires are needed when digging potatoes. And when the gearbox is above the plants during operation, the diameter of the wheels must be large so as not to damage the crop.

Cultivation is the loosening of soil that has already been processed before, with the cutting of weeds and other plants harmful to the crop. with your own hands - a significant savings of your funds.

ZIL-130 is a common Soviet-era truck. By clicking on it you can get acquainted with its technical characteristics.

Since the mass of the walk-behind tractor is small, rubber wheels will not always be able to pull it out and turn, slide. In this situation, metal wheels with special lugs are put on.

An important element due to which the normal power of the unit is maintained and less fuel is consumed. Air filter for Mole motoblock cleans the air masses from all kinds of particles and dust, which are sufficient when working in the field.

The material from which it is made is paper, which is based on cellulose fiber. The air-fuel mixture with a dirty filter will not work correctly in the carburetor, which will negatively affect the operation of the device. The assessment of contamination is carried out visually.

If the filter is still dirty, it must be replaced immediately. Alternatively, it can be disassembled and cleaned, but this is only in case of surface contamination.

The filter is disassembled as follows:

  • The filter housing is removed by unscrewing the nut on it.
  • The case is washed with water and wiped dry.
  • The filter element can be cleaned with an air jet.
  • If it does not help, the filter is replaced.

In no case do not operate the walk-behind tractor without a filter element.

Repair manual

Repair of motoblock "Mole" simple and quite real at home. Just take some time to read the instructions and analyze the circuit diagram of the device. Then you can easily repair the Mole walk-behind tractor with your own hands.

There are things that will help you repair the Mole walk-behind tractor with your own hands. Video from among them. The craftsmen will clearly show how and in what sequence to repair the equipment. Although the equipment is reliable, even it, due to its use in conditions of prolonged multifunctional work, can break down.

But it is also important to understand why the Mole walk-behind tractor fell ill. Repair instructions may be without video.

Gearbox repair

The gearbox of the Mole motoblock must convert and transmit torque. It happens that the unit is noisier and not as loud as before. In this case, you may not have to touch the gearbox of the Mole motoblock. Repair may not be needed.

Noise often indicates a lack of oil in the system. Top up, or better yet, replace it altogether. Oil may leak due to worn seals. Another option why the walk-behind tractor is noisy is that the fasteners of the nodes require that they be pulled up, since they have become loose. This can be done by hand.

Motoblock "Mole", for more than thirty years of its existence, proved to be a simple, reliable and multifunctional device and a faithful assistant summer residents and gardeners.

It is easy to repair it without going to a workshop, many, even non-native, parts fit it, and it can be improved and modified with your own hands without any problems.

On the other hand, a number of more modern and progressive walk-behind tractors have appeared, more powerful, economical and with a large number of functions that are already present directly from the factory.

Each owner suburban area, one way or another, there is a need to care for the garden, flower beds, or simply plowing the soil for sowing lawn grass. Equipment such as the Krot cultivator perfectly copes with the task.

The unit is used for various types of soil cultivation: loosening, digging for an admixture of fertilizers, weeding, hilling, pumping water. The equipment can be used not only for its intended purpose - in the summer, spring and autumn, the device will serve as an excellent transporter.

Technical features of the equipment

The device has a small weight - from 48 kilograms and an approximate size - 130x81x106 centimeters. The unit does not take up much usable space, which allows it to be stored in a garage, a small workshop or transported by car. The design of the Russian manufacturer consists of a simple scheme - aluminum tubular handles are welded to the frame, on which the equipment controls are located.

The frame itself is mounted with bolts directly to the gearbox attached to the engine. On the cultivator, a cutter is mounted to the "output area". For convenient transportation, wheels are installed to the frame, however, in the process of tillage, they must be removed.

The engine for the cultivator is often used as a single-cylinder and double-acting type with forced air cooling. The power of this element is from 2.6 horsepower, the working volume does not exceed 60 cm3. The engine for the cultivator is started manually, using a special rope.

There are also two gears - forward and reverse on the cultivator, facilitating control. Soil plowing cutters are made of hardened steel and have sharp tips.

The cutters have good resistance to aggressive environments, which increases the service life of the equipment.

Methods of application and additional elements

The device has a wide range of applications. To increase the number of possibilities, you will need to buy additional spare parts for the cultivator. With the help of equipment you can produce:

  • Plowing the land

It is necessary to install soil cutters on the output shafts and raise the wheels intended for transportation. The coulter, mounted directly on the bracket, acts as a brake and a regulator of the intensity of tillage. In this work, the main functioning element is the cutter.

  • Weed weeding

Here you will need an instruction manual, since it is necessary to attach the “L”-shaped weeds to the internal cutters, having previously removed the plowing knives.

  • Hilling and preliminary preparation of the soil

Soil cutters are dismantled, wheels with lugs (consisting of metal) are installed. Item not included, must be purchased separately. In place of the coulter, the hiller is mounted.

  • Digging up potatoes

The unit with metal wheels can be equipped with a potato digger, which is not included in the package.

Potato digger for cultivator sold separately, easy to connect with the main frame

  • Cargo transportation

Instead of metal cutters, it is necessary to install rubber wheels and attach a trolley to the frame.

  • Water pumping

The V-belt on the traction gearbox must be removed, then connected to the pumping system and the engine.

  • grass mowing

The scheme of the unit allows you to additionally equip it with a mower, which can be purchased separately. The element is connected to the V-belt drive motor.

Modification and series

Initially, the equipment was produced in the form of one model - the cultivator Mole MK1 of a milling type. Over the years, the manufacturer has improved the technique with the help of additional spare parts that increase its functionality, resulting in several series.

MK

Models of the MK series have the most compact dimensions and low power. Due to the ease of storage, the possibility of transportation and affordable cost, they are considered one of the most popular modifications.

DDE

Consists of three models: cultivator Mole 2, 1 and V700II. The first modification is equipped with two gears, reverse and forward, the second one is air-cooled and has an anti-scatter plate, the last one is equipped with an engine of the company's own production.

Except specifications and weight, the Krot M model is distinguished by the location of the transport wheel, which is the only one in this device and is located in the middle of the unit. The package includes milling knives and a Honda brand engine.

Reviews: pros and cons

Mole cultivators have an almost equal number of advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages

  • Affordable prices.
  • The equipment is easy to use, convenient functionality.
  • The compact dimensions make it possible to transport the unit and store it in small spaces.
  • A wide range of applications in the domestic and agricultural sector.
  • A wide range of various attachments that can increase the functionality of the unit.
  • Relatively large plowing depth.

Flaws

  • Sufficiently low power for processing large areas.
  • The presence of only one lane for soil processing.
  • The small size of the area of simultaneous plowing of the land.
  • To start the cultivator, you must use a manual starter.
  • Spark plugs burn out quickly, as a result of which the Mole cultivator does not start.
  • Additional "wings" are made of very thin plastic, which breaks quickly.

The most important thing that users complain about is the quality of the engine, which after 1 year of operation begins to live its own life. Please note that there is no oil in the working crankcase, it is poured into the transmission crankcase from above, and overflow is controlled from the side. Any gear oil can be poured into the gearbox. If the engine really started to act up, it will have to be replaced. Do it in service centers. Often they use Chinese counterparts, but it is still better to prefer original parts.

Calculation of power and land area

Square land plot for processing Required engine power of the cultivator Mole

It should be noted that these calculations of the power of the unit for processing a certain area of land will be indicative, since such features as:

  • soil density,
  • rocky inclusions,
  • tree roots and stumps,
  • clay structure.

In addition, Krot cultivators have a low noise level compared to models from foreign manufacturers. The unit is great for small areas with a garden, flower beds and other cultivated plants.
